And when all who knew him previously saw how he prophesied with the prophets, the people said to one another, "What has come over the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?"

Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, "I was[1] no prophet, nor a prophet's son, but I was a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore figs.

But the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'

The Jews therefore marveled, saying, "How is it that this man has learning,[4] when he has never studied?"

and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

And all who heard him were amazed and said, "Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?"

And he too stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay naked all that day and all that night. Thus it is said, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
