Now Joab was in command of all the army of Israel; and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was in command of the Cherethites and the Pelethites;

So Solomon came from[1] the high place at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting, to Jerusalem. And he reigned over Israel.

Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such women? Among the many nations there was no king like him, and he was beloved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless, foreign women made even him to sin.

I the Preacher have been king over Israel in Jerusalem.
