Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father, only he sacrificed and made offerings at the high places.

Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes.

And if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do what is right in my eyes by keeping my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did, I will be with you and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.

For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and did not wholly follow the LORD, as David his father had done.

For they also built for themselves high places and pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree,

and tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you, and yet you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments and followed me with all his heart, doing only that which was right in my eyes,

And Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as David his father had done.

But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was wholly true to the LORD all his days.

And he walked in all the sins that his father did before him, and his heart was not wholly true to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

because David did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and did not turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the LORD. Yet the high places were not taken away, and the people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places.

Jehoshaphat also made peace with the king of Israel.

And if you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days."

And Solomon said, "You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and have given him a son to sit on his throne this day.

Now therefore, O LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, 'You shall not lack a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.'

Let your heart therefore be wholly true to the LORD our God, walking in his statutes and keeping his commandments, as at this day."

And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules,

Jehoash said to the priests, "All the money of the holy things that is brought into the house of the LORD, the money for which each man is assessed -- the money from the assessment of persons -- and the money that a man's heart prompts him to bring into the house of the LORD,

And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not like David his father. He did in all things as Joash his father had done.

The LORD preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

Love the LORD, all you his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.

This is to the end that the people of Israel may bring their sacrifices that they sacrifice in the open field, that they may bring them to the LORD, to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to the LORD.

And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[7] for those who are called according to his purpose.

But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.[2]

"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am commanding you today for your good?

"And if you will indeed obey my commandments that I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God[1] that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them."

And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?

They answered, "He is; behold, he is just ahead of you. Hurry. He has come just now to the city, because the people have a sacrifice today on the high place.
