And of Zion it shall be said, "This one and that one were born in her"; for the Most High himself will establish her.

What will one answer the messengers of the nation? "The LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people find refuge."

For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David."

and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth.

Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

"Thus says the LORD who made the earth,[1] the LORD who formed it to establish it -- the LORD is his name:

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock[2] I will build my church, and the gates of hell[3] shall not prevail against it.

a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

As regards the gospel, they are enemies of God for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.

And because he loved your fathers and chose their offspring after them[2] and brought you out of Egypt with his own presence, by his great power,

"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."
