the LORD will strike Israel as a reed is shaken in the water, and root up Israel out of this good land that he gave to their fathers and scatter them beyond the Euphrates, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the LORD to anger.

But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be rooted out of it.

And I will send sword, famine, and pestilence upon them, until they shall be utterly destroyed from the land that I gave to them and their fathers."

The prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied war, famine, and pestilence against many countries and great kingdoms.

But the land shall be abandoned by them and enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they spurned my rules and their soul abhorred my statutes.
