The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving.

In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) and said,

But Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem.

Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him,

Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.

I do not write these things to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children.

When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints?

So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church?

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
