Let them be ashamed and confounded, who are seeking my life,—Let them turn back and be put to the blush, who are devising my hurt:

When, therefore, he said unto them, I, am he, they went backwards, and fell to the ground.

Lo! they shall turn pale and be ashamed—All they who have been incensed against thee,—They shall become as nothing and perish—The men who have been thine accusers:

Let them turn pale and then at once blush, who are seeking my life to snatch it away,—Let them draw back, and be confounded, who are taking pleasure in my calamity;

O God, be not far from me, O my God, to help me, make haste!
