From that time, began Jesus Christ to be pointing out to his disciples that he must needs, into Jerusalem, go away, and, many things, suffer, from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain,—and on, the third day, arise.

And some began to be spitting at him, and, covering up his face, and to be buffeting him, and saying to him—Prophesy! And, the attendants, with smart blows, took him.

For, just as was Jonah in the belly of the sea-monster three days and three nights, so, will be the Son of Man, in the heart of the earth, three days and three nights.

Sons of the base, yea sons of the nameless, they were scourged out of the land.

And they will slay him, and, on the third day, will he, arise. And they were grieved exceedingly.

Then released he unto them Barabbas, but, scourging, Jesus, delivered him up, that he might be crucified.

saying—Sir! we have been put in mind that, that deceiver, said, while yet living,—After three days, will I, arise.

And Pilate, being minded to do what would satisfy, the multitude, released unto them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus, having scourged him, that he should be crucified.

For he will be delivered up unto the nations, and be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,—
