And, he, said—Unto you, hath it been given, to get to know the sacred secrets of the kingdom of God; but, unto the rest, in parables,—in order that, seeing, they may not see, and, hearing, they may not understand.

In that season, answered Jesus, and said—I openly give praise unto thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,—in that thou hast hid these things from the wise and discerning, and hast revealed them unto babes;

Hear this, I pray you ye people—foolish and without heart,—Eyes, have they, and see not, Ears, have they, and hear not!

They have not taken note, neither can they perceive,—He hath besmeared—past seeing—their eyes, Past understanding, their hearts;

In order that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, even unto all the riches of the full assurance of their understanding, unto a personal knowledge of the sacred secret of God,—Christ:

Now, unto him who hath power to establish you, according to my glad-message—even the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of a sacred secret, in age-past times kept silent,

And Jesus, answering, said to him—Happy, art thou, Simon Bar-yona,—because, flesh and blood, revealed it not unto thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.

Intimacy with Yahweh, have they who revere him, His covenant also, he letteth them know.

yet hath Yahweh not given onto you a heart to know, or eyes to see or ears to hear,—until this day.

And, confessedly great, is the sacred secret of godliness,—Who was made manifest in flesh, was declared righteous in spirit, was made visible unto messengers, was proclaimed among nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

But, all these, energiseth the one and the same Spirit, distributing unto each one, peculiarly, even as it is disposed.

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; lest they should see with their eyes, and should understand with their heart, and should turn,—and I should heal them.

Therefore, behold me! again dealing wonderfully with this people, doing wonderfully a wonderful thing,—So shall perish, the wisdom of their wise men, And the intelligence of their intelligent men, shall vanish!

Son of man. In the midst of a perverse house, dost thou dwell,— Who have eyes to see—and have not seen. Ears have they to hear—and have no heard, For a perverse house, they are.

They may surely look and yet not see, and surely hear and yet not understand, lest once they should return and it be forgiven them.
