And, to Caleb, son of Jephunneh, gave he a portion, in the midst of the sons of Judah, at the bidding of Yahweh, by Joshua,—even the City of Arba, father of Anak, the same, is Hebron.
One alone, is my dove, my perfect one, one alone, was she to her mother, Pure, was she to her that bare her,—The daughters, have seen her, and pronounced her happy, Queens and concubines, and they have praised her. ****
For this cause, hath Hebron belonged unto Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite, for an inheritance, unto this day,—because he wholly followed Yahweh, God of Israel.
As for us, we invaded the South of the Cherithites, and against that which pertaineth unto Judah, and against the South of Caleb,—and, Ziklag, burned we with fire.
And it came to pass, after this, that David enquired of Yahweh, saying—Shall I go up into one of the cities of Judah? And Yahweh said unto him, Go up. And David said—Whither shall I go up? And he said—Unto Hebron.
And, as for the villages in their fields, some of the sons of Judah, dwelt in Kiriath-arba, and the hamlets thereof, and in Dibon, and the hamlets thereof, and in Jekabzeel, and the villages thereof;
