And Yahweh confused them before Israel, and smote them with a great slaughter at Gibeon,—and chased them along the way that goeth up Beth-horon, and smote them as far as Azekah and as far as Makkedah.

So Yahweh smote the Ethiopians, before Asa, and before Judah,—and the Ethiopians fled.

and, the second company, turned unto the way of Beth-horon,—and, the third company, turned unto the way of the boundary that overlooketh the valley of Zeboim, towards the wilderness.

and Kibzaim, with her pasture land, and Beth-horon, with her pasture land,—four cities.

and Gederoth, Beth-dagon and Naamah, and Makkedah,—sixteen cities, with their villages.

The king of Makkedah, one, the king of Bethel, one,

And Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them as far as great Zidon, and as far as Misrephoth-maim, and as far as the valley of Mizpeh, eastward,—yea they smote them until they left them not a survivor.

And Joshua captured, Makkedah, on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and, the king thereof, devoted he to destruction, them and all the souls that were therein, he left no survivor,—but did unto the king of Makkedah, as he had done unto the king of Jericho.

But Yahweh thy God will deliver them up before thee,—and discomfit them with a great discomfiture, until they are destroyed;

So then Joshua came in unto them, suddenly,—all the night, came he up, from Gilgal.

And the Philistines gathered together their hosts, unto battle, and they were gathered together unto Socoh, which belongeth unto Judah,—and they encamped between Socoh and Azekah in Ephes-dammim;

And he sent forth arrows, and scattered them,—lightning, and confused them;

So then Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon, the nether,

When the Almighty scattereth kings therein, It will gleam like snow in the gloom:

Now, Barak, pursued the chariots, and the host, as far as Harosheth of the nations,—and all the host of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword, there was not left so much as one.

From heaven, was the battle fought,—The stars in their courses, fought against Sisera.

But, as for the sons of the company which Amaziah sent back from going with him to the war, they spread themselves out against the cities of Judah, from Samaria, even unto Beth-horon,—and smote of them three thousand, and took great plunder.

Then will Yahweh cause to be heard—the resounding of his voice And the bringing down of his arm, shall be seen, In a rage of anger, And with the flame of a devouring fire,—A burst and a downpour, and a hailstone!

Then will Yahweh go forth, and fight against those nations,—just as he did in the day when he fought, in the day of battle;
