But, as for me, when I came in from Padan, Rachel died by me, in the land of Canaan, in the way, while yet there was a stretch of country to come into Ephrath,—so I buried her there in the way to Ephrath, the same, is Bethlehem.

And Jacob came in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan,—when he came in from Padan-aram,—and he encamped before the city.

And Jacob set up a pillar, over her grave,—the same, is—The Pillar of the Grave of Rachel until this day.

But thine offspring which thou hast begotten after them, thine own shall they be,—after the name of their brethren, shall they be called in their inheritance.

And Samuel did that which Yahweh had spoken, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the city came trembling to meet him, and one said—Peaceably, comest thou?
