And the land suffered them not to dwell together,—because their substance had become, great, so that they could not dwell together.

But Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children,—she had, however, an Egyptian handmaid, whose name was Hagar.

Thus did the man break forth, exceedingly,—thus came he to have flocks in abundance, and maid-servants, and men-servants and camels and asses.
