Belshazzar, gave word, at the flavour of the wine, to bring the vessels of gold and silver, which Nebuchadnezzar his father, had brought forth, out of the temple which was in Jerusalem,—that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines, might drink therein.

they drank wine,—and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood and stone.

Therefore, hath hades enlarged her desire, And opened her mouth to its widest,—And their glory, and their multitude and their pomp. and he that is uproarious shall descend thereinto.

The voice Of them who are in flight and Of such as are escaping, out of the land of Babylon,—To tell in Zion The avenging of Yahweh our God, The avenging of his temple.

But, she, owneth not, that, I, gave her—the corn, and the new wine and the oil,—silver, also increased I unto her, and gold— which they offered to Baal!

Then, hath he become arrogant in spirit, and hath committed excess, and so is guilty,—this his violence, is due to his god.

But ye are profaning me,— in that ye say, As for the table of the Lord, polluted it is, and, as for his produce, contemptible is his food.

As soon as they begin to say—Peace! and safety! then, suddenly, upon them, cometh destruction,—just as the birth-throe unto her that is with child,—and in nowise shall they escape.
