To the chief Musician. Of the servant of Yahweh, of David,—who spake unto Yahweh the words of this song,—in the day when Yahweh had rescued him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul; and he said:— I will love thee, O Yahweh my strength!
And it came to pass, after many days, when Yahweh had given rest unto Israel, from all their enemies round about,—and, Joshua, had become old, advanced in days,
And Yahweh gave them rest round about, according to all that he had sworn unto their fathers,—and there stood not a man before them, of all their enemies; all their enemies, did Yahweh deliver into their hand.
even from the day when I put judges in charge over my people Israel, thus will I give thee rest from all thine enemies. And Yahweh must tell thee that, a house, will Yahweh make for thee.
Then David the king rose up on his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren and my people,—As for me, it was near my heart, to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and for the footstool of our God, and I made ready to build.
