Then said Elijah unto Elisha—Tarry here, I pray thee, for, Yahweh, hath sent me as far as Bethel. And Elisha said, By the life of Yahweh and by the life of thine own soul, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.

Now, therefore, my lord—By the life of Yahweh, and by the life of thine own soul,—seeing Yahweh hath withholden thee from coming in with bloodshed, and from saving thyself, with thine own hand, now, therefore, like Nabal, be thine enemies, and they who are making search for my lord, wrongfully.

and called the name of that place—Beth-el,—nevertheless, Luz, was the name of the city, aforetime.

From among us, they went out, but they were not of us; for, if, of us, they had been, they would in that case have abode with us; but it came to pass in order that they might be made manifest, because, all, are not of us.

And he set the one in Bethel,—and, the other, put he in Dan.
