Then rose up Pharaoh by night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians, and there arose a great outcry throughout Egypt,—for there was not a house, where there was not one dead.
As if a man should flee from the face of a lion, and there should meet him—a bear! or he should have entered the house, and leaned his hand upon the wall, and there should bite him—a serpent!
Howl ye shepherds and make outcry, And roll in the dust ye illustrious of the flock, Because your days for being slaughtered, are fulfilled,—Therefore will I break you in pieces, and ye shall fall like a precious vessel!
Then shall it come to pass, that—him that escapeth the sword of Hazael, shall, Jehu, slay,—and, him that escapeth the sword of Jehu, shall, Elisha, slay;
About this time to-morrow, will I send unto thee, a man out of the land of Benjamin, whom thou shalt anoint, to be leader over my people Israel, and he shall save my people, out of the hand of the Philistines,—for I have looked upon the oppression, because their outcry hath come in unto me.
