O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the covert of the steep place, Let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice: For sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

Thou that dwellest in the gardens, The companions hearken for thy voice: Cause me to hear it.

I was asleep, but my heart waked: It is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: For my head is filled with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.

The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one in his iniquity.

As for thy terribleness, the pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD;

O ye inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock; and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the holes mouth.

Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

For the LORD hath comforted Zion: he hath comforted all her waste places, and hath made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; Thine eyes are as doves.

Now unto him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy,

but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible apparel of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our body washed with pure water:

in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him:

that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him;

O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

to go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake mightily the earth.

If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, Go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, And feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: But the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Thy people offer themselves willingly in the day of thy power: In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, Thou hast the dew of thy youth.

O deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.

Will ye lie among the sheepfolds, As the wings of a dove covered with silver, And her pinions with yellow gold?

Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; And to him that ordereth his conversation aright Will I shew the salvation of God.

So shall the king desire thy beauty: For he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

If I had called, and he had answered me; Yet would I not believe that he hearkened unto my voice.

And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; Even the rich among the people shall entreat thy favour.
