He shall suck the poison of asps: The viper's tongue shall slay him.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

If the serpent bite before it be charmed, then is there no advantage in the charmer.

And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the basilisk's den.

Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgement of hell?

Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:

Their wine is the poison of dragons, And the cruel venom of asps.

but the tongue can no man tame; it is a restless evil, it is full of deadly poison.
