They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, And imagine deceits all the day long.

He hath put my brethren far from me, And mine acquaintance are wholly estranged from me.

He lurketh in the covert as a lion in his den: He lieth in wait to catch the poor: He doth catch the poor, when he draweth him in his net.

The wicked have laid a snare for me; Yet went I not astray from thy precepts.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the way side; They have set gins for me. Selah

Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, And from the gins of the workers of iniquity.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

For they speak not peace: But they devise deceitful words against them that are quiet in the land.

Let them be ashamed and brought to dishonour that seek after my soul: Let them be turned back and confounded that devise my hurt.

Mine enemies speak evil against me, saying, When shall he die, and his name perish?

For strangers are risen up against me, And violent men have sought after my soul: They have not set God before them. Selah

For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.

Mine eye wasteth away by reason of affliction: I have called daily upon thee, O LORD, I have spread forth my hands unto thee.

All the brethren of the poor do hate him: How much more do his friends go far from him! He pursueth them with words, but they are gone.
