And he presented the people's oblation, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.

and the priests killed them, and they made a sin offering with their blood upon the altar, to make atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a he-goat for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering;

Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him.

who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.

Wherefore it behoved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

and by reason thereof is bound, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
