But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, because of the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.

And God said unto him in the dream, Yea, I know that in the integrity of thy heart thou hast done this, and I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.

But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

for to every purpose there is a time and judgement; because the misery of man is great upon him:

The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.

Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and I will make a fence against her, that she shall not find her paths.

And while he was sitting on the judgement-seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that righteous man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the Revelation--wherefore, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch.

who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not; that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end:

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.
