I am a brother to jackals, And a companion to ostriches.
For this will I wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the jackals, and a mourning like the ostriches.
I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am become as an owl of the waste places.
but Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.
That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, And covered us with the shadow of death.
If I have said to corruption, Thou art my father; To the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister;
Like a swallow or a crane, so did I chatter; I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward; O LORD, I am oppressed, be thou my surety.
And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.
I watch, and am become Like a sparrow that is alone upon the housetop.
