Terrors are turned upon me, They chase mine honour as the wind; And my welfare is passed away as a cloud.

And if my head exalt itself, thou huntest me as a lion: And again thou shewest thyself marvelous upon me.

For the thing which I fear cometh upon me, And that which I am afraid of cometh unto me

As through a wide breach they come In the midst of the ruin they roll themselves upon me

For calamity from God was a terror to me, And by reason of his excellency I could do nothing

For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, The poison whereof my spirit drinketh up: The terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.

Then thou scarest me with dreams, And terrifiest me through visions:

As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away, So he that goeth down to Sheol shall come up no more.

Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the oppression of the wicked; For they cast iniquity upon me, And in anger they persecute me.

I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: While I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.

Thy fierce wrath is gone over me; Thy terrors have cut me off.

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the dew that passeth early away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the threshing-floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.

O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that goeth early away.
