O earth, cover not thou my blood, And let my cry have no resting place.
For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
And now cursed art thou from the ground, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Will God hear his cry, When trouble cometh upon him?
and cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.
Although there is no violence in mine hands, And my prayer is pure.
Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, And he that coucheth for me is on high.
Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: Give me understanding according to thy word.
