Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and eat ye every one of his vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his own cistern:

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a present of thy servant.

Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof; And he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.

Drink waters out of thine own cistern, And running waters out of thine own well.

until I come and take you away to a laud like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.

But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.

In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.

I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your aforepromised bounty, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not of extortion.

And the elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us seven days' respite, that we may send messengers unto all the borders of Israel: and then, if there be none to save us, we will come out to thee.

And now this present which thy servant hath brought unto my lord, let it be given unto the young men that follow my lord.
