And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down to the grave to my son mourning. And his father wept for him.

And Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.

And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.

Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: And they made an appointment together to come to bemoan him and to comfort him.

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: My hand was stretched out in the night, and slacked not; My soul refused to be comforted.

I remember God, and am disquieted: I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Thus saith the LORD: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuseth to be comforted for her children, because they are not.
