Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground, I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

The LORD upholdeth the meek: He bringeth the wicked down to the ground.

Surely thou settest them in slippery places: Thou castest them down to destruction.

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: But with the lowly is wisdom.

Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.

And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.

For he hath brought down them that dwell on high, the lofty city: he layeth it low, he layeth it low even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what manner of wisdom is in them?

And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgements upon thee in the sight of many women; and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou shalt also give no hire any more.

But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken off and withered; the fire consumed them.

Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be astonished at thee.

and say unto Tyre, O thou that dwellest at the entry of the sea, which art the merchant of the peoples unto many isles, thus saith the Lord GOD Thou, O Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty.

Thy borders are in the heart of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.

Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord GOD Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art man, and not God, though thou didst set thine heart as the heart of God:

by thy great wisdom and by thy traffic hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

therefore behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.

Therefore thus said the Lord GOD Because thou art exalted in stature, and he hath set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

Yea, I will make many peoples amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

And the multitude shall be lifted up, and his heart shall be exalted: and he shall cast down tens of thousands, but he shall not prevail.

For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
