Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away; for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

As a loving hind and a pleasant doe, Let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; And be thou ravished always with her love.

Because there is wrath, beware lest thou be led away by thy sufficiency; Neither let the greatness of the ransom turn thee aside.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

Even today is my complaint rebellious: My stroke is heavier than my groaning.

Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
