Ezekiel 17:16

As I live, saith the Lord GOD surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

And he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

For thus saith the Lord GOD I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither; when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the beds where it grew.

and he took of the seed royal, and made a covenant with him; he also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land:

And it shall be unto them as a vain divination in their sight, which have sworn oaths unto them: but he bringeth iniquity to remembrance, that they may be taken.

They speak vain words, swearing falsely in making covenants: therefore judgement springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

And I will come near to you to judgement; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers; and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

When a man voweth a vow unto the LORD, or sweareth an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unmerciful:

for fornicators, for abusers of themselves with men, for menstealers, for liars, for false swearers, and if there be any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;

without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,

This we will do to them, and let them live; lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.
