but when the matter came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head; and that he and his sons should he hanged on the gallows.

then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

But he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.

for we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my peace, although the adversary could not have compensated for the king's damage.

Then spake the king Ahasuerus and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; Further not his evil device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah

As for the head of those that compass me about, Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

Let the wicked fall into their own nets, Whilst that I withal escape.

His mischief shall return upon his own head, And his violence shall come down upon his own pate.

I will give thanks unto the LORD according to his righteousness: And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity, And shall cut them off in their own evil; the LORD our God shall cut them off.

Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: And he that rolleth a stone, it shall return upon him.

His own iniquities shall take the wicked, And he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.

In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that was fastened in a sure place give way; and it shall be hewn down, and fall, and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off; for the LORD hath spoken it.

For the day of the LORD is near upon all the nations: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee; thy dealing shall return upon thine own head.

And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.

And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept back his servant from evil: and the evil-doing of Nabal hath the LORD returned upon his own head. And David sent and spake concerning Abigail, to take her to him to wife.
