And take heed that ye be not slack herein: why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings?

The king spake and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty satraps, which should be throughout the whole kingdom;

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would make a reckoning with his servants.

And he called him, and said unto him, What is this that I hear of thee? render the account of thy stewardship; for thou canst be no longer steward.

Here, moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
