And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court,

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.

He made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid their doors with bronze;

Then he brought me into the outer court; and behold, there were chambers and a pavement, round about the court; thirty chambers fronted on the pavement.

Then he went into the gateway facing east, going up its steps, and measured the threshold of the gate, one reed deep;

When the priests enter the holy place, they shall not go out of it into the outer court without laying there the garments in which they minister, for these are holy; they shall put on other garments before they go near to that which is for the people.”

Afterward he brought me to the gate, the gate facing east.

As the glory of the Lord entered the temple by the gate facing east,

“Thus says the Lord God: The gate of the inner court that faces east shall be shut on the six working days; but on the sabbath day it shall be opened and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

When the prince provides a freewill offering, either a burnt offering or peace offerings as a freewill offering to the Lord, the gate facing east shall be opened for him; and he shall offer his burnt offering or his peace offerings as he does on the sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and after he has gone out the gate shall be shut.
