Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

because they rejected my ordinances and did not walk in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.

But they rebelled and grieved his holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.

He who despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who respects the commandment will be rewarded.

Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on the law shall live by it.

You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances, by doing which a man shall live: I am the Lord.

Do not be like your fathers and your brethren, who were faithless to the Lord God of their fathers, so that he made them a desolation, as you see.

But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.

I gave them my statutes and showed them my ordinances, by whose observance man shall live.

Then I remonstrated with the nobles of Judah and said to them, “What is this evil thing which you are doing, profaning the sabbath day?
