Let the groans of the prisoners come before thee; according to thy great power preserve those doomed to die!

O Lord, be gracious to us; we wait for thee. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.
For the Lord hears the needy, and does not despise his own that are in bonds.
“Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord; “I will place him in the safety for which he longs.”
