For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up;

running stubbornly against him with a thick-bossed shield;

But thou, O Lord, art a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

who rules by his might for ever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

I know his insolence, says the Lord; his boasts are false, his deeds are false.
