O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me!

Why dost thou stand afar off, O Lord? Why dost thou hide thyself in times of trouble?

Make haste to answer me, O Lord! My spirit fails! Hide not thy face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the Pit.

Be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is none to help.

But thou, O Lord, be not far off! O thou my help, hasten to my aid!

Thou hast seen, O Lord; be not silent! O Lord, be not far from me!

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me! O Lord, make haste to help me!

Draw near to me, redeem me, set me free because of my enemies!

But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! Thou art my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not tarry!
