Arise, O Lord, in thy anger, lift thyself up against the fury of my enemies; awake, O my God; thou hast appointed a judgment.

Thou, Lord God of hosts, art God of Israel. Awake to punish all the nations; spare none of those who treacherously plot evil. Selah

They are like a dream when one awakes, on awaking you despise their phantoms.

Direct thy steps to the perpetual ruins; the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!

Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine.

The Lord has taken his place to contend, he stands to judge his people.

“Now I will arise,” says the Lord, “now I will lift myself up; now I will be exalted.

So now, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou alone art the Lord.”

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the dragon?
