As a hart longs for flowing streams, so longs my soul for thee, O God.
The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,
With open mouth I pant, because I long for thy commandments.
We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what deeds thou didst perform in their days, in the days of old:
My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the city of our God! His holy mountain,
Hear this, all peoples! Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,
Lord, thou wast favorable to thy land; thou didst restore the fortunes of Jacob.
On the holy mount stands the city he founded;
O Lord, my God, I call for help by day; I cry out in the night before thee.
The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.
Now Korah the son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben,
and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men that belonged to Korah and all their goods.
Notwithstanding, the sons of Korah did not die.
