Put false ways far from me; and graciously teach me thy law!
He who says “I know him” but disobeys his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,
Turn my eyes from looking at vanities; and give me life in thy ways.
Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and every one who loves and practices falsehood.
Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their true loyalty.
O Lord, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in the day of trouble, to thee shall the nations come from the ends of the earth and say: “Our fathers have inherited naught but lies, worthless things in which there is no profit.
He feeds on ashes; a deluded mind has led him astray, and he cannot deliver himself or say, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?”
I hate and abhor falsehood, but I love thy law.
Through thy precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
O that my ways may be steadfast in keeping thy statutes!
Therefore I direct my steps by all thy precepts; I hate every false way.
