What man is there who desires life, and covets many days, that he may enjoy good?
Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth!

making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;
for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips.
My son, be attentive to my wisdom, incline your ear to my understanding;
My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you;
Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.
