And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of extortion and wickedness.

He who conceals hatred has lying lips, and he who utters slander is a fool.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.

And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with their lips they show much love, but their heart is set on their gain.

Take away the dross from the silver, and the smith has material for a vessel;

when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart;

for he is like one who is inwardly reckoning. “Eat and drink!” he says to you; but his heart is not with you.

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.
