In everything a prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.

It is well with the man who deals generously and lends, who conducts his affairs with justice.

Wisdom abides in the mind of a man of understanding, but it is not known in the heart of fools.

The tongue of the wise dispenses knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.

A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.

“Scoffer” is the name of the proud, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride.

The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is wicked madness.

Even when the fool walks on the road, he lacks sense, and he says to every one that he is a fool.

Behold, my servant shall prosper, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high.

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I would have you wise as to what is good and guileless as to what is evil;

Brethren, do not be children in your thinking; be babes in evil, but in thinking be mature.

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Now therefore know this and consider what you should do; for evil is determined against our master and against all his house, and he is so ill-natured that one cannot speak to him.”

Let not my lord regard this ill-natured fellow, Nabal; for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; but I your handmaid did not see the young men of my lord, whom you sent.
