The desire of the righteous ends only in good; the expectation of the wicked in wrath.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

I have not pressed thee to send evil, nor have I desired the day of disaster, thou knowest; that which came out of my lips was before thy face.

My soul yearns for thee in the night, my spirit within me earnestly seeks thee. For when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

The hope of the righteous ends in gladness, but the expectation of the wicked comes to naught.

O Lord, thou wilt hear the desire of the meek; thou wilt strengthen their heart, thou wilt incline thy ear

but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries.

When the wicked dies, his hope perishes, and the expectation of the godless comes to naught.

With my whole heart I seek thee; let me not wander from thy commandments!

O that my ways may be steadfast in keeping thy statutes!

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.

One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

The thoughts of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are treacherous.

From the fruit of his mouth a good man eats good, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.
