The hope of the righteous ends in gladness, but the expectation of the wicked comes to naught.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Such are the paths of all who forget God; the hope of the godless man shall perish.
When the wicked dies, his hope perishes, and the expectation of the godless comes to naught.
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,
Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God.
The wicked is overthrown through his evil-doing, but the righteous finds refuge through his integrity.
The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked man comes to naught.
But the eyes of the wicked will fail; all way of escape will be lost to them, and their hope is to breathe their last.”
Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also dwells secure.
The desire of the righteous ends only in good; the expectation of the wicked in wrath.
Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds; his name is the Lord, exult before him!
An evil man is ensnared in his transgression, but a righteous man sings and rejoices.
