On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’

and therefore I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am sure that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.

Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation,

the oracle of him who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, but having his eyes uncovered:

But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief.

I tell you, it shall be more tolerable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

Afterward the other maidens came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

“Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be brought low; and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

may the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that Day—and you well know all the service he rendered at Ephesus.

when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

Truly, I say to you, it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.
