And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,

and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal.

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain; and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”

So he came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask a drink of me, a woman of Samaria?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we shall not find him? Does he intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?

The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.”

And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.

And Saul was consenting to his death. And on that day a great persecution arose against the church in Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the region of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they may be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But God's wrath has come upon them at last!
