But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.”

But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed.

And he went out and wept bitterly.

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly grief produces death.
