And Jesus spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath, or not?”
And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. And they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?” so that they might accuse him.
But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, “Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the sabbath.”
And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, to test him.
And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
And behold, there was a man before him who had dropsy.
But they were silent. Then he took him and healed him, and let him go.
And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?”
If on the sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the sabbath I made a man's whole body well?
