Now King Solomon loved many foreign women: the daughter of Pharaoh, and Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women,

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such women? Among the many nations there was no king like him, and he was beloved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel; nevertheless foreign women made even him to sin.

The mouth of a loose woman is a deep pit; he with whom the Lord is angry will fall into it.

For a harlot is a deep pit; an adventuress is a narrow well.

Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool that repeats his folly.

Crush a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain, yet his folly will not depart from him.

Now these things are warnings for us, not to desire evil as they did.

But Samson lay till midnight, and at midnight he arose and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two posts, and pulled them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that is before Hebron.
